How To Learn Marketing

So you want to learn Marketing Cloud but don't have a background in marketing?

Or maybe you have some knowledge of marketing, but you want a refresher.

In this blog post, I'll share the books I read that taught me how marketing works.

I didn't know how Marketing worked AT ALL

When I started in Marketing Cloud, I had ZERO experience with marketing, and I was utterly lost with everything in the system.

I had no idea what a "Lead," "Contact," or "Account" was.

All the Salesforce terms were foreign to me.

Marketing Cloud was a blur, and I was pressing buttons in a system when I would get a task from my manager.

Then one day in the summer of 2020 (during the pandemic), I stumbled on a guy named Russell Brunson, and he changed my life forever.

When My Whole Life Changed

I took the OneFunnelAway challenge and ordered his entire series of marketing books.

This was the knowledge I needed if I was going to learn anything about how to market online correctly.

The beautiful part is that you don't need anything else after learning the core marketing principles from Russell Brunson.

Doing the OneFunnelAway challenge was like getting a master's in marketing.

If you do everything Russell says to do in the OneFunnelAway challenge, you'll be a better marketer than everyone at your company and probably most people worldwide.

My Strategy to learn how Marketing works

So the first thing I did was binge-watched all of Russell's YouTube stuff

Then I bought his book DotComSecrets

Then I bought the whole trilogy of his books.

He has these three books:

• DotComSecrets

• ExpertSecrets

• TrafficSecrets

If you read all three of these books and implement everything in them consistently, you'll be so far ahead of the curve in marketing that you might never have to work a job again.

I'm serious; this stuff works!

After that, I did the OneFunnelAwfay challenge.

That's all you have to do to learn how marketing works.

Read and watch everything from Russell Brunson, and you'll be good to go.

As you read all his stuff, you'll naturally learn more about the other people he recommends to learn from, but I'll let him do that for you.
