Living A Meaningful Life

Have you heard of The Butterfly Effect?

It goes like this:

"Invisible and inevitable, like a butterfly that beats its wings in one corner of the globe, and with that single action changes the weather halfway across the world.”

What does that mean to you?

I look at the butterfly effect as...

"The small choices you make today will affect the world for generations to come."

Sometimes, we get so caught up in what we want - that we forget how our actions impact the people around us.

So, let me ask you a question.

What impact are you making on the world?

Are you drifting through life?

Are you worried about what other people think of you?

Are you "Playing it safe"?

Where will that get you in life?

Will your life be interesting enough for your grandchildren to ask you about it?

Are you living a meaningful life?

Yes?

No?

Maybe?

What if the path to an interesting life wasn't what the world said it was?

What if seeking pleasure made you a more boring person?

What if cheap thrills didn't actually make your life more interesting?

Would you keep doing what you're doing?

What would you do if you were living a full life?

Take a moment and think about your life for a second.

When were you at your best?

When did you feel the most alive?

Allow me to blow your mind for a second.

You ready?

Boring and Mundane things give you an interesting life.

I bet you weren't expecting me to say that, were you?

Hear me out for a second.

When you created your best work, where were you?

What were you doing when you felt the most alive?

I bet it wasn't when you were skydiving.

You probably weren't at the newest Drake concert.

You weren't clubbing with the homies popping bottles.

You were focused.

You were working.

You were alone.

You were overcoming challenges.

You were in the trenches figuring out how to solve a problem.

And you were living your purpose.

Lots of people think that you're supposed to enjoy what you're doing if you want to live an interesting life.

But the opposite is true.

To live an interesting life, We must enjoy the pain of the mundane.

You can't climb the highest mountain peak if you don't go through the lowest valley.

It's not possible.

You have to become a fan of mundane tasks.

You have to embrace doing the boring work.

It's the only way to achieve anything worth having.

I'm not saying you can't enjoy life.

Quite the opposite.

When you put in the work to do the things nobody else is willing to do - You get the life that nobody else is able to have.

When you do the boring work that everyone avoids, you get to enjoy the fruits of your labor.

And the result of doing hard work is:

The reward is longer lasting and SOOOO much sweeter.

But you have to be willing to embrace the boring and hard moments.

That's where you grow the most.

But most people can't endure the pain.

But you're not like most people.

You are willing to delay gratification and achieve greatness.

Anyone can get on TikTok and scroll on their couch.

But the dopamine rush only lasts for a few seconds.

Then it's gone.

After 10 minutes of TikTok, you'll be looking for your next fix.

When you look for instant pleasure - you end up having a life with nothing to be proud of.

But the person who puts their head down and gets to work on what they're called to do is the person who achieves the ultimate prize.

So my question for you is:

How Will You Live A Meaningful Life?

Maybe you're stuck and don't know where you want to go in life.

Maybe you don't know how to get out of your current life situation.

Maybe you think this is the route you're supposed to take in life - but you don't know for sure.

Take some time to think about your life.

Here are 5 Questions To Help You Live a More Meaningful Life:

Question 1: When did you feel the most alive in life?

Write down 5 moments in your life that you felt the most alive.

Make sure these moments are related to when you were working on a project or accomplishing something.

You can write down "Skydiving" or "Skiing" if you want.

But try to write down something related to working and being in flow.

Unless you want to be a professional skydiver or skiier of course. Then write those down and chase that dream.

I'm not gonna be the one to stop you from living your pro sports dream out!

You'll get clues on what you need to do more of.

You'll pick up patterns on what gives you life.

Question 2: What do need to do to feel like you're living your purpose?

Once you identify your top 5 moments where you've felt the most alive, identify what you need to be doing to live in your purpose.

You don't have to quit your job to do this.

You just have to do the thing that brings you life everyday (even if it's for 5 minutes).

The more consistent you do the thing that brings you life, the long you'll do it.

For example - if you love writing, then write for 5 minutes everyday.

As time goes on, you'll start writing for 10 minutes.

Eventually you'll write for 30 minutes, then an hour per day, and so on.

Just make sure you make time to do the thing that brings you life.

Question 3: What would you do if you didn't get paid for it?

This is a great question to ask yourself if you don't know what brings you life.

Think about what you normally do that you don't get paid for.

Do you have a hobby or a habit that you do everyday or every weekend that you're not getting paid for?

If you do, this is probably a sign that you should be doing that thing more often and try to get better at that thing.

Be intentional about the things that you enjoy and see how good you can get at those things!

As time goes on, you'll eventually become so good that you can get paid from it (if you want).

Question 4: What do people say you're naturally good at?

Most people think Lebron James is living his best life because he gets to play a sport he's naturally good at and loves.

But what most people don't realize is that you have something you're naturally good at and can love.

Ask 5 people to list something they think you're naturally good at.

Just say:

"Hey, is there anything you think I'm naturally good at doing?"

Ask that question to five different people and see what they say.

Write their answers down in your phone or on a sheet of paper.

This allows you to see from other people's perspectives.

People see things in you that you can't see in yourself.

If you ask 5 people and they say the same thing, that's a good sign that you should pursue that thing.

It means you're naturally good at that thing and should focus on it more.

Hone your craft and become so good they can't ignore you.

Question 5: What information do you consume the most?

This will show you what you're the most interested in.

If you look back on your YouTube history, you'll see videos that you're the most interested in.

If you read books, you'll see the things you care the most about.

People don't read books they don't enjoy (unless it's for school lol)

You can also go back and look at your browsing history on your computer and see what you've looked up in the past 30 days.

Doing this will give you a fresh perspective on what you're interested in.

Looking back on your habits will tell you everything you need to know.

Conclusion:

After you identify what you're interested in and when you feel the most alive, you can rest easy knowing that the boring work will be worth it.

Nobody wants to do boring work just for the money.

It's not worth it.

But the boring work is required if you want to make an impact in life and achieve massive results.

Do the boring work and watch how fulfilled your life becomes.

And remember the butterfly effect:

"The small choices you make today will affect the world for generations to come."

I promise, it's worth it.
